On International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian people, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed India’s unwavering support to their cause.
Addressing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, PM Modi said he hoped “direct talks” would resume to find a comprehensive and negotiated solution.
Highlighting India’s initiatives, he wrote: “India has been at the forefront of extending developmental assistance to Palestine over the years.”
Last year, India’s statement at the UN Security Council appeared to implicitly hold Israel responsible for triggering the cycle of violence.
Over the years, India’s policy on the conflict has evolved to a large extent.
It changed from being unequivocally pro-Palestine, to a tense balancing act with its three-decade-old friendly ties with Israel.
